Born March 11, 1979 in Mexico City, Alex built his early career in professional sport — playing collegiate golf at Stanford University before turning pro in 2001 and competing on the Web.com Tour across the 2005, 2009 and 2012–13 seasons, with tournament wins at the TPC Stonebrae Championship (2012) and the WNB Golf Classic (2013).
